Chosun Seoho Art Festival
The Chosun Seohwa Art Society is an art organization organized at the beginning of the Japanese colonial period. It is often called a calligraphic art gallery. It was organized in June 1912 as a patronage of the Chosun governor-general. The financial support was given by Lee Wang-seong, an organization that presides over the Imperial Imperial Palace. The origin of the Joseon Seohwa Art Council can be found in Kyungsung Seohwa Art Center, founded by Yun Young Ki in March 1911. Kyungsung Seohwa Art Center was deprived of operating rights by Lee Wan Yong six months after its establishment. Lee Wan Yong took office as the chairman after establishing Chosun Seohwa Art Society the next year based on Kyungsung Seo Hwa Art Center. Cho Min-hee, the brother-in-law of Lee Wan-yong, and Sodo, who was close to the Chosun governor-general, including Jo Choong-eung, In 1913 and 1915, the Seohwa Exhibition was held to promote modern art culture. On the other hand, the classroom which was under the jurisdiction of Kyungsung Seo Hwa Art was reorganized as a classroom of Chosun Seohwa Art Society by Lee Yuan Yong in 1914 and became an institution to train Oriental Paintings.
