Sorbitol
Sorbitol is a type of hexa-alcohols obtained by reducing the hexagonal sugar, such as glucose, and gives a sweet taste similar to sugar. Di-sorbitol is a food ingredient in the Republic of Korea as an approved sweetener. It is a white crystal with flammability and hygroscopicity. It has a sweet taste and is soluble in water or alcohol. It is contained in juice of apples, peaches, Cosmetics lotion, cream, toothpaste, food additive, synthetic raw material of vitamins, sweeteners of diabetic patients, diuretics. The melting point is 93 ~ 97.5 ℃. The formula is CH2OH4CH2OH.

Sorbitol sorbitol is one of the six sugar alcohols. In the normal liver, fructose becomes fructose by the action of sorbitol · tehydorogenase. It becomes fructose-1-p from fructose, enters the system and is metabolized (metabolized). Estimation from animal studies suggests that sorbitol has a high hepatic glycogen production, is highly available in the liver, is less inhibitory in hepatic steatosis and has less effect on blood glucose, (Transfusion agent), but its effect is still questionable.
