Capital
The capital city refers to a city that is the center of politics and administration of a nation. Most of the capital is located in the central government, and the city is based on the nation's top leaders, such as the head of state. However, a city that is recognized as a symbolic entity of the country apart from the central government is regarded as the capital. There are several capitals depending on the country, the actual administration is not located in the capitals, or the major state institutions are located in several cities. For example, the administration of South Africa is in Pretoria, the legislature in Cape Town, and the judiciary in Bloemfontein. The Dutch Constitution states that Amsterdam is the capital city, but the government and the Supreme Court are located in The Hague.
