The flag of the Republic of Korea or the national flag is the national flag of the Republic of Korea. The Taegeukgi is a white background with red and blue Tai Chi motifs in the center, and four black, Gun, Gon, and Lee 4 rulings surround your ears. The first pattern of Taegeukgi is Kojong. The Taegeukgi was made in 1882 under the order of King Gojong and made a part of the Taegeuk Paradeo, a symbol of the King of Joseon, and it was used by the Japanese receptionist party such as the Joe Miwoo Trade Treaty in May 1882 and Park Younghee in September. The Taegeukgi was used as the official flag of Korea, the Korean Empire, and the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea, and has been used as a regular flag since the establishment of the Korean government in 1948.

대한민국의 국기 또는 태극기는 대한민국의 국기이다. 태극기는 흰 바탕의 기 위에 빨강색과 파랑색의 태극 문양을 가운데에 두고 검은색의 건·곤·감·리 4괘가 네 귀에 둘러싸고 있다. 태극기의 최초 도안자는 고종이다. 태극기는 1882년 고종의 명을 받아 조선의 왕을 상징하는 어기인 '태극 팔괘도'를 일부 변형하여 만들었고, 1882년 5월 조미수호통상조약과 9월 박영효 등 일본 수신사 일행에 의해 사용되었다. 태극기는 조선, 대한제국, 대한민국 임시 정부의 공식 국기로 사용되었고, 1948년 대한민국 정부 수립 이후에도 계속 정식 국기로 사용되고 있다.
