Bomoh

Bomoh

Bomoh refers to traditional medicine in the Malay community of ancient times. Bomoh treats based on the use of plants and animals. If a disease fails, the bomoh will turn to the belief in the spiritual power of the environment, which is a way of life before the teachings of Islam flourish in the archipelago to treat the patient. Bomoh is a person who is believed to be able to heal various diseases because he is only considered to be in contact with spirits or supernatural powers. Traditional medicine practitioners in the Malay community are also known as shamans, or handlers.
