Evolusi atau ubah ansur ialah teori sains yang dikemukakan oleh ahli biologi untuk menerangkan perubahan rupa dan sifat haiwan dan tumbuhan sepanjang zaman sehingga kini. Kaji selidik nyata membuktikan bahawa setiap hidupan banyak berubah dari zaman ke zaman, berdasarkan bentuk fosil yang terdapat di bumi. Oleh itu, adalah nyata bahawa hidupan zaman sekarang jauh berbeza dari hidupan zaman dahulu. Semakin lama zaman silamnya, semakin berlainan rupa bentuk fosilnya.
