WHAT DOES JED MEAN IN MALAY?
Jed
As jewelry, jade is actually made up of two different types of stones comprising different silicate minerals. Jed Nephrite is composed of actinolite minerals, amphiboles rich in calcium and magnesium. The stone known as jadeitite also consists almost entirely of jadeite, pyroxene rich in sodium and aluminum. The word 'jade' is taken from the English 'jade' taken from the Spanish term piedra de ijada or 'waist stone, due to its reputation for the efficacy of treating kidney and kidney disease. Jed 'Nephrite' is derived from the nephriticus layer, the Latin version of the Spanish term piedra de ijada. Because both are used by the Stone Age and Bronze cultures for similar purposes, and both are almost as hard as quartz, resistant, beautiful and delicate, they are both indistinguishable until the 19th century by a French recruiter. Many jade stones decorate jewelery such as rings, chains, bracelets, and home jewelry. More importantly, it is a symbol of glory, dignity, and elevation.
