The computer is a programmable program designed to read and implement a sequence of instruction lists that make it arithmetic and logical operations based on binary numbers. Basically, computers consist of short-term memory and long-term memory for data storage; and a central processing unit that functions as a control unit and contains an arithmetic logic unit. Accessory can be connected so that the computer can receive external input and output displays. The computer processor unit performs a series of commands that make it read, manipulate and then store data. The test and landing instructions allow it to move within the program space and therefore implement different instructions as a function of the current position of the machine or its environment. Computers can also respond to interruptions that make it execute certain command sets and then resume what they are doing before interrupt. The first electronic computer was developed in the middle of the 20th century. With such size of a large room, it requires much power like several hundred modern personal computers.

Komputer merupakan mesin boleh atur cara yang direka untuk membaca dan melaksanakan urutan sesebuah senarai arahan yang membuatkan ia melakukan operasi aritmetik dan logik berdasarkan angka binari. Pada asasnya, komputer terdiri dari ingatan jangka pendek dan ingatan jangka panjang untuk peyimpanan data; dan unit pemprosesan pusat yang berfungsi sebagai unit kawalan serta mengandungi unit logik aritmetik. Aksesori boleh dihubungkan supaya komputer dapat menerima input luar dan memaparkan output. Unit pemproses komputer melaksanakan siri arahan yang membuatkan ia membaca, memanipulasi dan kemudian menyimpan data. Ujian dan arahan loncat membenarkannya untuk bergerak di dalam ruang program dan oleh itu melaksanakan arahan berlainan sebagai fungsi dari kedudukan semasa dari mesin itu atau persekitarannya. Komputer boleh juga bertindak balas terhadap sampukan yang membuatkan ia melaksanakan set arahan tertentu dan kemudian kembali meneruskan apa yang ia sedang buat sebelum sampukan. Komputer elektronik pertama telah dibangunkan pada pertengahan abad ke-20. Dengan saiz seumpama sebuah bilik besar, ia memerlukan kuasa yang banyak seumpama beberapa ratus komputer peribadi moden.
