WHAT DOES KUBAH MEAN IN MALAY?

Dome is one of the most frequently used architectural elements. It is shaped like half-sphere, or like a cone whose surface is curved out. There are also 'dome plates' and 'onions dome'. Usually the dome will be placed at the highest place above the building. It is placed on the framework of a parcel building by using a dome stop. The dome can be considered as a gate that is rotated on its vertical axis. This means the dome has a large structural strength. Just like the depressed gate bridge, the dome can be made of bricks and concrete only, depending on the pressure and friction forces. However, modern dome is usually made of aluminum alloy, steel or concrete reinforced as a frame and coated with aluminum, copper, polycarbonate or mirror sheet as per requirements. When viewed from within, the hemispherical-shaped dome looks more attractive, but it needs to be higher to look attractive from the outside. So some dome, for example the church of St. Peter was built from two dome while St. Paul's church was built from three domes. Many mosques in the world now have a dome, including in Malaysia.
