Independence
Independence is self-governing by the inhabitants of a country that generally demands sovereignty. The term independence is used to distinguish by conquest that refers to an area as "territory" controlled by an external government in terms of politics and military. The word is sometimes used in a weaker sense to differentiate with hegemony which is a control of a country indirectly by a stronger nation. Independence can be the starting standard for a country emerging, but often a liberation from the power that dominates the area. On the contrary, independence can also be defined as a situation not dominated by other powers through colonization, policy of power expansion or imperialism. Independence can be obtained through decolonization, separation or division. Although these three are often coincidental with independence, these three should not be confused with the rebellion which usually refers to the violation of the authorities violently.
