WHAT DOES PARANG MEAN IN MALAY?
Parang
According to Dewan Bahasa, Parang is defined as a large Malay knife. Parang is a tool like a knife originating in Southeast Asia, especially the archipelago. It is used to cut harder wood, with harder eyes and a center of stroke far ahead of the stalk. His eyes are also more obscure so as not to be stuck in pieces. The eye is usually 30 centimeters long and the mass is not more than 0.75 kilograms. Curved eyes allow maximum power consumption when cutting logs, then eyes up before the thumb for protection of the knuckles. It has three eyes, the front eye is very sharp and is used for peeling, wider middle eye and used for pruning, and a very delicate back eye and used for carving. The blade blade length is between 10 and 24 inches. If the blade is short of 10 inches, the tool is called the Knife. More than 24 inches are called Swords.
