Plankton

Plankton

Plankton is defined as any drifting organism that lives in the pelagic zone of the ocean, sea, and freshwater reservoir. It is widely regarded as one of the most important organisms in the world, for being a supply of food to aquatic life. For most marine life, plankton is their main food. Plankton is made up of remnants of marine animals and plants. Its only small size. Despite living things, plankton has no power to resist the tide, tide or wind that sweeps it off. Plankton lives on the coast where it receives sufficient supply of mineral salts and sunshine. This is important to keep it alive. Since plankton becomes fish food, it is not surprising that many fishes are found on the coast. That is why active fishing activities are conducted in the area. In addition to animal remnants, plankton is also produced from plants. If viewed through a microscope, algal plant elements can be seen on plankton. Among the plankton-eating marine life are rocks, plates, and whales.
