abba

WHAT DOES ABBA MEAN IN POLISH?

ABBA

ABBA - Swedish pop music ensemble, founded in 1972 by Anni-Frid Lyngstad, Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and Agnetha Fältskog. The group's musical activity dates back to the seventies and early eighties. The name of the band, formed in 1973, is an acronym formed from the first letters of the names of the vocalists. ABBA is regarded as one of the most significant on the market and the box office musical history has sold more than 300 million records around the world. In 1974, the group won the 19th Eurovision Song Contest with the hit "Waterloo", giving Sweden the first win in the history of the competition and becoming the most popular participant of the event. On July 5, 2008, members of the band met and posed together for the Swedish premiere of a movie based on the musical Mamma Mia !, whose script inspired the biggest hits of the group. It was the first public meeting of vocalists for more than twenty years. In 2010, the band was introduced to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
