Masochism
Masochism - a type of sexual dysfunction in which an individual feels sexual excitement in situations when his or her physical and mental pain is being disturbed or when he or she is humiliated. The name masochism comes from the name of Leopold Sacher-Masoch, a popular nineteenth-century novelist whose heroes or heroes have often been sexually abused by their partners. The term was introduced by the Austrian psychiatrist Richard von Krafft-Ebing in 1886. Alghedonia is an experience of pleasure while experiencing physical pain.
