Arsenic (name Stocka: arsenates (III)) - arsenic acid salts, where arsenic is present on +3 oxidation stage. They contain AsO3-3 (arsenic), HAsO2-3 (hydrooroshenin), H2AsO-3 (dihydrogenarsenin), and they are called ortoarsenines to distinguish from salts containing As2O4-5 (pyrroarsenine) or polymeric n-n ( metaarseniny). Most arsenic acid salts are in the form of metaarsenines (yellow or slightly yellowish water-soluble arsenate, Ag3AsO3). Lithium arsenides dissolve in water very well, beryllium - less, while heavy metal salts are insoluble. In the presence of strong acids arsenic decomposes. Some salts (eg sodium metaarsenin) can be obtained by dissolving sodium hydroxide As2O3. Arsenic was once used as pigments (Paris green, Scheele green) and pesticides (sodium metaarsenin, copper arsenin, arsenic calcium), but were replaced with less toxic agents. ↑ ↑ ↑ ...

Arseniny (nazwa Stocka: arseniany(III)) – sole kwasu arsenawego, w których arsen występują na +3 stopniu utlenienia. Mogą one zawierać jony AsO3−3 (arseniny), HAsO2−3 (wodoroarseniny), H2AsO−3 (diwodoroarseniny), przy czym nazywa się je ortoarseninami dla odróżnienia od soli zawierających aniony As2O4−5 (piroarseniny) lub też polimeryczne n−n (metaarseniny). Większość soli kwasu arsenawego występuje w postaci metaarseninów (przykładem ortoarseninu jest żółty, słabo rozpuszczalny w wodzie arsenin srebra, Ag3AsO3). Arseniny litowców rozpuszczają się w wodzie bardzo dobrze, berylowców – słabiej, natomiast sole metali ciężkich są nierozpuszczalne. W obecności mocnych kwasów arseniny rozkładają się. Niektóre sole (np. metaarsenin sodu) można otrzymać poprzez rozpuszczanie As2O3 w zasadzie sodowej. Arseniny były niegdyś stosowane jako pigmenty (zieleń paryska, zieleń Scheelego) i pestycydy (metaarsenin sodu, arsenin miedzi, arsenin wapnia), jednak zostały zastąpione mniej toksycznymi środkami.
