Bellingshausen

Bellingshausen

Bellingshausen is a Russian Antarctic station located in the Collins Bay on King George Island in the South Shetland Islands. It was one of the first stations established during the Soviet expedition in 1968. There is a church of the Holy Trinity. The station is connected by an unpaved road to the Chilean Presidente Eduardo Frei Montalva station, the Chinese Great Wall and the Uruguayan Artigas. Living conditions in the Antarctic Peninsula and nearby islands are considered the mildest in the Antarctic. The average temperature in the coldest month is -6.8 ° C and the warmest is +1.1 ° C. Residents of the polar base gave her the nickname Kurort. Footnotes ...
