PRONUNCIATION OF CREDITANSTALT IN POLISH

creditanstalt

WHAT DOES CREDITANSTALT MEAN IN POLISH?

Creditanstalt

Creditanstalt - was an Austrian bank. This bank was based in Vienna, was founded on 31 October 1855 by the Rothschild family. The institution was successful and soon became the largest bank in Austria-Hungary. After the Great Depression, on May 11, 1931, the bank declared bankruptcy, but survived the crisis with the help of the "Oesterreichische Nationalbank" and the Rothschild family. There was a merger with the bank "Wiener Bankverein" and the name was changed to "Creditanstalt-Bankverein". On June 5, 1931, the German Chancellor Heinrich Brüning on a visit to London warned UK Prime Minister Ramsay MacDonald that the collapse of the Austrian banking system, caused by the bankruptcy of Creditanstalt, puts the entire banking system in Germany on the verge of bankruptcy. And so it did, despite US President Herbert Hoover's plan, which proposed a moratorium on the repayment of German war reparations to France and those of the victorious nations of the First World War, which had long been in the hands of the United States.
