Falstaff - a fictional character appearing in William Shakespeare's three plays, as a companion of future King Henry V, son of Henry IV. A fat, infamous and cowardly knight often causes trouble to the future king, and after he enters the throne, he is suddenly repelled. A character often found in European literature as Miles Gloriosus or Soldier Soldier. Falstaff – fikcyjna postać pojawiająca się w trzech sztukach Williama Shakespeare'a, jako kompan przyszłego króla Henryka V, syna Henryka IV. Otyły, niesławny i tchórzliwy rycerz często sprawia przyszłemu królowi kłopoty, a po tym, jak ten wstępuje na tron, zostaje niespodziewanie odtrącony.
