Farinelli

Carlo Maria Michelangelo Nicola Broschi, Farinelli - Italian opera singer, castrato. His brother was composer Riccardo Broschi. One of the last great castrans in opera history. He has been singing professionally since the age of 15, gradually gaining fame and admiration for crowds. He had a 3-octave scale of voice and was a master in the making of ornaments. Occasionally he played on harpsichord and violin and composed. He performed in Rome, Vienna and London, brought by GF Händel's competitors, contributing to the bankruptcy of his theater in 1737. In 1737 he was invited to Madrid by Queen Elsie Farnese and then for 20 years he sang at the Spanish court of Philip V and his successors Ferdinand VI, where he soon became a very influential person. The royal service was released by Charles III; He spent his last years living in his residence in Bologna. In 1994 Gérard Corbiau directed the film Farinelli Il Castrato, largely based on the singer's biography. Carlo Maria Michelangelo Nicola Broschi zw. Farinelli − włoski śpiewak operowy, kastrat. Jego bratem był kompozytor Riccardo Broschi. Jeden z ostatnich wielkich kastratów w historii opery.
