Fedon

Fedon of Elidy Greek philosopher, founder of the school in Elid. He came from an aristocratic family, after the fall of his family town he was taken prisoner and had to perform the duties of a doorman in the house of debauchery. After closing the door, he escaped from there to take part in Socrates' conversations. It lasted until Socrates failed to persuade Albius to take the young man out of captivity. From then on, Fedon was free to deal with philosophy.

Pochodził z rodu arystokratycznego, po upadku swego miasta rodzinnego dostał się do niewoli i musiał pełnić obowiązki odźwiernego w domu rozpusty. Po zamknięciu drzwi wymykał się stamtąd, by brać udział w rozmowach Sokratesa. Trwało to tak długo, póki Sokratesowi nie udało się skłonić Alkibiadesa do wykupienia młodzieńca z niewoli. Odtąd Fedon swobodnie mógł zajmować się filozofią.
