WHAT DOES HARFA MEAN IN POLISH?

Harp

Harfa - a string instrument strung in the shape of a stylized triangle, one side of which is a downward resonant box. From it comes 46 or 47 strings stretched on wooden pins, stuck in the upper frame. It is one of the oldest musical instruments, derived from a musical bow. In antiquity it was also found in the shape of an arch. Harfa was already known in Asia Minor about 5000 years ago. It was also known in the culture of ancient Mesopotamia. It is said that the biblical king David sang psalms accompanied by a kinnor harp, which in reality is called the harp of error, being a variant of the lyre. Harp-like instruments are found in many cultures. The harpy is like a Chinese string instrument called konghou. For the first time Harp was in the orchestra in the works of Jerzy Fryderyk Haendel and Christoph Willibald Gluck. However, a permanent place in the orchestra appeared only in the scores of Hektor Berlioz and Ryszard Wagner.
