Lorens
Lorens, formerly also referred to as Lw - a synthetic chemical element, not stable and is not naturally occurring. The name comes from the physicist Ernest O. Lawrence. According to IUPAC, lorens is classified as actinide. Also according to the IUPAC terminology, it belongs to block d, which is the only actinide of period 7 that does not belong to block f. By belonging to block d, it belongs to the group of scandals. According to the Madelung rule, the electron configuration of the lorens in the basic state should have one electron on the 6d subshell. However, due to the relativistic effects it is expected that in the basic state lorens has one electron on the 7p subshell. Actual configuration has not been investigated due to short life of known isotopes.
