Moscow is the capital of Russia and the largest city in the country. It is also the largest city in Europe, with 12.1 million inhabitants, with the entire agglomeration numbering 15.512 million. One of the most important political, economic, cultural, religious, financial, educational, transportation and tourist centers of Russia. Moscow is home to Russia's highest state authorities, including the president, the parliament and the government. In the past, the city was the capital of: the Principality of Moscow, the Grand Duchy of Moscow, the Russian Federation, the Soviet Union, and the Soviet Union. Moscow is also the capital of the Russian Orthodox Church. There are over 600 temples of different denominations, including the Orthodox Church of Christ the Savior - the largest Orthodox church in the world, and the Danilo Monastery - the seat of the patriarch of Moscow and of all Ruthenia. During World War II, Moscow as the only European capital repatriated the Germans, gaining the title of "hero-city". The city is currently one of the most important financial centers in the world. Jeden z najważniejszych ośrodków politycznych, gospodarczych, kulturowych, religijnych, finansowych, edukacyjnych, komunikacyjnych oraz turystycznych Rosji. Moskwa jest siedzibą najwyższych władz państwowych Rosji w tym: prezydenta, parlamentu oraz rządu. W przeszłości miasto było stolicą: Księstwa Moskiewskiego, Wielkiego Księstwa Moskiewskiego, Carstwa Rosyjskiego, Rosji Radzieckiej i Związku Radzieckiego. Moskwa jest także stolicą Rosyjskiego Kościoła Prawosławnego. Znajduje się tu ponad 600 świątyń różnych wyznań, w tym Cerkiew Chrystusa Zbawiciela – największa na świecie cerkiew prawosławna, a także Monaster Daniłowski – siedziba patriarchy Moskwy i całej Rusi. Podczas II wojny światowej Moskwa jako jedyna stolica europejska odparła ataki niemieckie uzyskując tytuł „miasta-bohatera”. Miasto jest obecnie jednym z najważniejszych ośrodków finansowych świata.
