Ogdoada

Ogdoada - in Egyptian mythology a group of eight gods worshiped in Hermopolis and closely related to the cosmogony concept. According to this concept, there were eight deities in the primordial prajna. These hives, which appear in the form of snakes and frogs or monkeys, were divided into four pairs: ▪ Nun and Naunet - the truths; ▪ Kuk and Kauket - darkness; ▪ Huh and Hauhet - infinity; ▪ Amon and Amaunet - invisibility. Each of these pairs personified a certain characteristic of primordial chaos. These characteristics also derive the names of particular deities. According to the Hermitian cosmogony, Ogdoady's deities created a cosmic egg from which the god-creator was hatched. According to another version, the egg was made by a praptaka, which was mostly ibis, rarely duck or goose. Ogdoada - w mitologii egipskiej grupa ośmiu bóstw czczonych w Hermopolis i ściśle związanych z tamtejszą koncepcją kosmogoniczną.
