Serengeti National Park

Park Narodowy Serengeti

Serengeti National Park is a national park located in northwestern Tanzania, in the central part of the Serengeti Plain, in the east. from Lake Victoria. It is one of the largest and most well-known protected areas in the world. Its surface area is 14 763 km². Reserve protected in 1929, and in 1951 became a national park. Inscribed on the World Heritage List. The Serengeti National Park includes a flat plain covered with savanna grass, with single rocky hills and clumps of acacia trees. It is famous for the migratory, multi-millionth herd of ungulates: antelope, zebra, Thompson's and Grant's ogre, buffalo. Besides, there live giraffes, elephants, rhinos, and predators: crocodiles, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, liqueurs, jackals, pythons. Serengeti National Park is home to numerous safaris. Park Narodowy Serengeti – park narodowy, położony w północno-zachodniej Tanzanii, w centralnej części równiny Serengeti, na wsch. od Jeziora Wiktorii. Należy do największych i najbardziej znanych obszarów chronionych na świecie. Jego powierzchnia wynosi 14 763 km². Ochroną rezerwatową objęty w 1929, a w 1951 uzyskał status parku narodowego. Wpisany na listę światowego dziedzictwa UNESCO. Park narodowy Serengeti obejmuje płaską równinę porośniętą trawiastą sawanną, z pojedynczymi skalistymi wzgórzami i kępami drzew akacjowych. Słynie z migrujących sezonowo wielomilionowych stad kopytnych: antylop, zebr, gazeli Thompsona i Granta, bawołów. Poza tym żyją tam: żyrafy, słonie, nosorożce, a z drapieżników: krokodyle, lwy, lamparty, gepardy, hieny, likaony, szakale, pytony. Park Narodowy Serengeti to miejsce licznych safari.
