WHAT DOES AMETROPIA MEAN IN PORTUGUESE?

Ametropia

Ametropia or refractive error of the ocular refraction causes loss of sharpness of the image in the retina. It encompasses myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism, among others. The ametropias are corrected with the use of glasses, or contact lens adaptation, or refractive surgery. It is important to note that minimal dioptre of ametropia does not always require correction, depending on each case, for the presence of symptoms and associated diseases. On the other hand, emétrope is considered the person who does not present considerable errors of refraction.
