Carraca

Carraca was a type of ship used in the transport of goods referenced in documents of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, created by the Portuguese specifically for the oceanic voyages in which the vessels used until then in the Mediterranean were incapable. The rattles were round sails and rounded, and had three masts. The first specimens had a capacity of 200 to 600 tonnes, but at the time the Portuguese used them in India's career reached 2000 tonnes. Carraca era um tipo de navio utilizado no transporte de mercadorias referenciado em documentos dos séculos XV e XVI, criado pelos Portugueses especificamente para as viagens oceânicas nas quais as embarcações até então usadas no Mediterrâneo se mostravam incapazes. As carracas eram navios de velas redondas e borda alta, e possuíam três mastros. Os primeiros exemplares tinham uma capacidade de 200 a 600 toneladas, mas na época em que os portugueses as utilizaram na carreira da Índia atingiu valores de 2000 toneladas.
