Absurdo

Absurd Portuguese is a sixteenth-century scholarly loan to the Latin adjective absurdus, "unpleasant to the ear," and, by extension, "incomprehensible, absurd," derived from the Latin adjective surdus, "deaf." Its substantivation in the Portuguese language is quite old. O português absurdo é empréstimo erudito do século XVI ao adjetivo latino absurdus, "desagradável ao ouvido", e, por extensão, "incompreensível, absurdo", derivado do adjetivo latino surdus, "surdo". Sua substantivação na língua portuguesa é bastante antiga.
