WHAT DOES MARIBUNDO MEAN IN PORTUGUESE?

Maribondo

Maribondo is a Brazilian municipality in the state of Alagoas. Its estimated population in 2010 is 13,606 inhabitants. Its Area is 171.28 km² representing 0.62% of the State, 0.01% of the Region and 0.00% of the entire Brazilian territory. Its Human Development Index is 0.64 according to the Human Development Atlas / UNDP It tells the history of the municipality that a small site called "Well of the caatinga" was implanted in 1905 to 18 km of Anadia and had that name by owning a well of crystalline water located between ingazeiros and canafístulas. In the middle of the vegetation a large house of maribondos was formed and the place became known as the "Well of the House of Maribondos." Among the many farms, that of José Sapucaia de Araújo was the one that developed the most, in 1910, of the first cotton vapor. In 1913 the Azevedo family arrived in the region and soon afterwards José Xavier de Azevedo installed the first fair, which was destroyed, without explanation, by the municipal guard of Anadia.
