Jean-Baptiste Poquelin, better known as Molière, was a French playwright, as well as an actor and director, considered one of the masters of satirical comedy. It had a prominent role in the French dramaturgy, until then much dependent on the theme of the Greek mythology. Molière used his works to criticize the customs of the time. He is considered the indirect founder of the Comédie-Française. Of him, said Boileau: Dans le sac ridicule où Scapin s'enveloppe je ne reconnais plus l'auteur du Misanthrope -. As a director, he was also known for his thoroughness and meticulousness. Jean-Baptiste Poquelin, mais conhecido como Molière, foi um dramaturgo francês, além de actor e encenador, considerado um dos mestres da comédia satírica. Teve um papel de destaque na dramaturgia francesa, até então muito dependente da temática da mitologia grega. Molière usou as suas obras para criticar os costumes da época. É considerado o fundador indirecto da Comédie-Française. Dele, disse Boileau: Dans le sac ridicule où Scapin s'enveloppe je ne reconnais plus l'auteur du Misanthrope -. Como encenador, ficou também conhecido pelo seu rigor e meticulosidade.
