Oviedo is a city and a municipality of the province and autonomous community of the Principality of Asturias, with 186,65km² of total area, with 214883 inhabitants, of which 196156 within the limits of the city, and densidad of population of 1151,26hab / km ². It occupies about 1.76% of the Asturian territory. Motto of the city in a side elevation of the building of the Municipality of Oviedo The city is the capital of Asturias and the greater city in area, but the second in the number of inhabitants. It forms a triangle with the main Asturian cities: Gijón and Avilés. In its shield is written the following motto: "The very noble, very loyal, heroic, invicta, meritorious and good city of Oviedo". It is nicknamed the Capital of Paradise, since Asturias is the Natural Paradise. It is among the five Spanish cities with the lowest rates of air pollution. It is known for cleaning the streets of its historic center. It is endowed with several green spaces, of which stands out the Field of San Francisco, in the center of the city. Oviedo é uma cidade e um município da província e comunidade autónoma do Principado de Astúrias, com 186,65km² de área total, com 214883 habitantes, dos quais 196156 dentro dos limites da cidade, e densidade populacional de 1151,26hab/km². Ocupa cerca de 1,76% do território asturiano. Lema da cidade num alçado lateral do edifício da Câmara Municipal de Oviedo A cidade é a capital das Astúrias e a maior cidade em área, porém a segunda no número de habitantes. Forma um triângulo com as principais cidades asturianas: Gijón e Avilés. No seu escudo está escrito o seguinte lema: "A muito nobre, muito leal, heróica, invicta, benemérita e boa cidade de Oviedo". É apelidada de Capital do Paraíso, já que as Astúrias são o Paraíso Natural. Encontra-se entre as cinco cidades espanholas que apresentam os menores índices de poluição atmosférica. É conhecida pela limpeza da ruas do seu centro histórico. Está dotada de vários espaços verdes, dos quais se destaca o Campo de San Francisco, no centro da cidade.
