Pleura

Pleura

pleura is a double membrane, similar to a sac, that surrounds the lung. It is a thin membranous layer made up of two leaflets: ▪ A parietal pleura that internally recovers the costal wall of the cavity, is intimately connected with the rib cage and is subdivided into four parts: ▪ costal pleura covering the inner surfaces of the thoracic wall. Mediastinal pleura covering the lateral surfaces of the mediastinum. ▪ diaphragmatic pleura covering the upper face of the diaphragm. ▪ pleural dome covering the apex of the lung. ▪ Visceral pleura covering the lungs. The pleura is, therefore, an intra-thoracic envelope membrane, within which there is a laminar space, also called the pleural cavity. pleura é uma membrana dupla, semelhante a um saco, que envolve o pulmão.
