Tical
Tical is the debut album by the American rapper, and member of the Wu-Tang Clan Method Man, released on November 15, 1994 by Def Jam Recordings. It was Wu-Tang's first solo album after the group's debut, Enter the Wu-Tang. Similar to all Wu-Tang solo projects of the first generation, Tical was mainly produced by the member of the RZA group, which provided an obscure, somber and rude sound. The album features entries from RZA, Raekwon, Inspectah Deck, as well as several affiliates that would later appear on future projects. The album's title, "Tical," is a slang used in the United States for a cigar that has been mixed with adulterant, typically a sweetener or other psychoactive substance. The album title is also a joke with the word "methodical". Tical was a commercial success, reaching number four on the Billboard 200, and number one on the Top R \u0026 amp; B / Hip-Hop Albums chart. On January 18, 1995, the album was certified gold by the Record Industry Association of America, and on July 13, 1995, it was certified platinum, with sales of 1,545,850 copies.
