Czar

Tsar or Tsar or even Tsar was the title used by the monarchs of the Russian Empire between 1546 and 1917. It was adopted by Ivan IV of Russia as a symbol of the nature of the Russian monarchy. In 1721 Peter I of Russia adapted the title of emperor, by which he and his heirs were recognized, and that became another designation beyond the tsar term, also in use. The term was also used to designate the monarchs of Bulgaria and Serbia. Tsarissa, tsarina, tsarina or czarina is the term used to designate the empress, tsarevna or cazarevna are designantes of the princess, and tsarévich or czarevich for a first-born heir, man. Princes not legitimately heirs and close relatives receive the denomination of Grand Prince Velikiy Knyaz, equivalent to the infante of the Iberian Peninsula. Tsar ou Tzar ou ainda czar foi o título usado pelos monarcas do Império Russo entre 1546 e 1917. Foi adotado por Ivan IV da Rússia como um símbolo da natureza da monarquia russa. Em 1721 Pedro I da Rússia adaptou o título de imperador, pelo qual ele e os seus herdeiros foram reconhecidos, e que se tornou uma outra designação para além do termo tsar, igualmente em uso. O termo também foi usado para designar os monarcas da Bulgária e da Sérvia. Tsarissa, czarissa, tsarina ou czarina é o termo usado para designar a imperatriz, tsarevna ou cazarevna são designantes da princesa, e tsarévich ou czarevich para um herdeiro primogénito, homem. Os príncipes não legitimamente herdeiros e familiares próximos recebem a denominação de Grão-príncipe Velikiy Knyaz, equivalente ao infante da Península Ibérica.
