dim. al lui
cameră; nișă);
cămăraș, s. m. (slujbaș care avea în grijă odăile domnului, la ordinele unui
mare cămăraș, administrator al palatului și boier al rangului doi. Marele cămăraș administra cheltuielile palatului, avea monopolul cumpărăturilor, îi supraveghea pe negustorii
raia și activitățile breslelor. Păzea modelul greutăților și măsurilor, din care transmitea copii legalizate cu sigiliul domnitorului, în schimbul impozitului numit
cotărit. Nu avea loc în sfat; primea ce rămînea din banii de cheltuieli pentru palat, daruri în fiecare an de la
cămărași, și jumătate din cota numită
răsură de la bresle și mănăstiri;
al doilea cămăraș se îngrijea în mod special de îmbrăcămintea domnitorului;
cămăraș de izvoade, secretar personal, se îngrijea de corespondență și de actele domnitorului;
cămăraș al ocnelor, administrator al minelor de sare;
cămărășel, s. m. (cămăraș; locuitor care era scutit de dări, în schimbul obligației de a servi cu propriile arme, în caz de război; se numea așa, deoarece comandantul lui era
marele cămăraș);
cămărășie, s. f. (funcția de
cămăraș; biroul acestuia);
cămărășiță, s. f. (nevastă de
cămăraș; chelăriță).
