mícă (-ci),s. f. – Fragment, fărîmă, parcelă, parte. Lat.mῑca (Pușcariu 1068; Candrea-Dens., 1093; Tiktin; REW 5559), cf.it.mica,fr.mie,sp.miga.Der. din sl.migŭ „clipă, moment” (bg., pol.mig,sb., rus.miga), propusă de Graur, BL, VI, 156 și de Scriban, se bazează pe expresii ca o mică de ceas, în care mică dobîndește sensul special de „parte dintr-o oră” și pare posibilă doar ca încrucișare semantică. E dubletul lui mică,s. f. (mineral în foițe), din fr. (lat.) mica. Probabil același cuvînt este cel care s-a păstrat în expresia mici fărîme (var.mii fărîme, mii și fărîme), cu sensul de „bucățele”, în care mici „bucăți” s-a confundat cu mici „de mărime redusă”. – Cf.dumica, nimic.
