WHAT DOES OP-ART MEAN IN ROMANIAN?
Op-art
Op-art is a direction in modern art that makes perception, from the "visual" condition of the work, a principle of formation and existence of creation. The basic method is to use abstract geometric shapes and colored surfaces to cause the viewer's eye movement and vibration effects through the technique of optical illusions. Incorporated often in cinematicism, op-art has its roots in the preoccupations of futurism and constructivism of motion movement, as well as in the perceptions of Piet Mondrian's perception or by the artists of Bauhaus. A precursor to op-art can be counted as Adolf Fleischmann, through the vibrational effect of colors and the symbiosis of form and color he has used. The term "op-art" appears for the first time in Time Magazine in October 1964, but one of the first manifestations announcing the new movement and consecrating some of its most prominent representatives - first of all Victor Vasarely and Jesús-Rafael Soto - is the 1955 exhibition at the Denise René Gallery in Paris.
