Anorthositis
Anorthosite is a magmatic plutonic basic normal alkaline rock of the gabbroid family. As a rule, it has a dense, massive texture, the color varies from light gray to almost black. It consists mainly of basic and medium plagioclases. In addition to plagioclase, orthopyroxene, clinopyroxene, olivine, ilmenite, titanomagnetite and other minerals are often found in anorthosites. Usually it has a coarse and gigantrain structure. Most large anorthosite complexes of the Earth were formed more than 1 billion years ago, often together with granites-rapakivi.
