Hematology
Hematology is a branch of medicine that studies blood, blood and blood diseases. Hematology studies etiology, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis and prevention of blood system diseases that affect the production of blood and its components, namely blood cells, hemoglobin, blood proteins, and coagulation mechanism. Scientific research in this area is often conducted by specialists in biomedicine. Hematologists also are engaged in research in the field of oncology - cancer treatment. Hematologists are doctors specializing in the field of hematology.
