Вирши
The verse is one of the types of spiritual verse, and later secular content, developed first in Poland, then in Ukraine and in Belarus from the end of the 16th to the beginning of the 18th century, and after it also passed into Russian literature. The early East Slavic verses were of a tonic character, later they became syllabic under the Polish influence, and this term was associated primarily with the syllabic. Subsequently, in the colloquial Russian, the word "verse" acquired a disdainful meaning - "bad verses", which, perhaps, is associated with the departure of Russian poetry from syllabics in the 1730s. and, accordingly, with regard to these texts as imperfect. Ви́рши — один из видов стиха духовного, а затем и светского содержания, развивавшийся сначала в Польше, затем на Украине и в Белоруссии с конца XVI до начала XVIII века, а после перешедший и в русскую литературу. Ранние восточнославянские вирши носили тонический характер, впоследствии под польским влиянием стали силлабическими, и этот термин стал ассоциироваться прежде всего с силлабикой. Впоследствии в разговорном русском языке слово «вирши» приобрело пренебрежительное значение — «плохие стихи», что, возможно, связано с отходом русской поэзии от силлабики в 1730-х гг. и, соответственно, с отношением к этим текстам как к несовершенным.
