Although women's rights and children's rights constitute separate investigation areas, they are also of interest to family law. Registered or unregistered life friendships also take place within the context of family law. Registered life friendship is not regulated in Turkish law. There is no right attached to a marital relationship, with children benefiting from equal rights both in marriage and out of marriage. Issues addressed in the context of domestic violence, maternity, maternity, artificial insemination, child abuse and child abduction, or in the context of children's rights are regulated exclusively in international law and in domestic law.
