Secularism
Laiklik
Secularism or laicism; that no reference is taken to any religion in the state administration and that the state is impartial in the face of religions. The word "secular", which has passed from French into Turkish, comes from the Latin word "laicus" which means "the non-cleric, the people outside the clergy". In Roman times, clergy were called "Cleric" and non-clergy were called "Laici". The English term for the same term is Secularity, which means that religious and state affairs are kept separate. It has passed the word "saeculum" which means "age", which is a Latin word. Secularism can be translated into three different terms as secularism, modernization, or secularization. Laïcité terms are used in France for secularism. Concepts, in both forms, express that the body and the scientific and the abstract and the religious are not to be confused with one another. Laiklik veya laisizm; devlet yönetiminde herhangi bir dinin referans alınmamasını ve devletin dinler karşısında tarafsız olmasını savunan prensiptir. Fransızca'dan Türkçe'ye geçmiş olan "laik" sözcüğü, "din adamı olmayan kimse; din adamı dışında kalan halk" anlamına gelen Latince "laicus" sözcüğünden gelmektedir. Roma döneminde din adamlarına "Clerici" din adamı olmayanlara da "Laici" adı veriliyordu. Aynı terimin İngilizce karşılığı ise Secularity olup, din ve devlet işlerinin ayrı tutulması anlamına gelir. Latince bir kelime olan çağ anlamına gelen "saeculum" kelimesinden geçmiştir. Sekülerizm Türkçeye lâiklik, çağdaşlaşma veya dünyevileşme olarak üç farklı terimle çevrilebilmektedir. Fransa'da lâiklik için Laïcité terimleri kullanılmaktadır. Kavramlar, her iki biçimde de cismi ve bilimsel olan ile soyut ve dinsel olanın birbirine karıştırılmamasını ifade etmektedirler.
