PRONUNCIATION OF MURABIT IN TURKISH

murabıt

WHAT DOES MURABIT MEAN IN TURKISH?

Almoravids

Murabıtlar is the name of the state and its people who have been an important political force during the Middle Ages in today's Spain and Morocco lands. Murabits, a people of North African origin, took almost all of the Muslim territories of the Iberian Peninsula in a short period of time with the advantage of having a regular military power in the period of turmoil following the disintegration of the Andalusian state. Between 1090 and 1147, it constituted a powerful state order, keeping most of Spain today and some lands in North Africa under control. Murabits, whose powers are increasingly exhausted due to the attacks of the Christian Iberian peoples and the insurgents of other North African communities, are endangered by the attacks of the Mujahideen of North African descent and they lose their political sovereignty.
