WHAT DOES YÜZEY MEAN IN TURKISH?
Surface
The surface is two-dimensional multi-layered in mathematics and especially in topology. A three dimensional space diagram of a function with two real variables and a real value is a typical surface example. In addition, the surface of the Earth, the shell of an egg, a bagel is one surface. The fact that a surface is a two-dimensional multi-layered structure means that it is primarily a topological space. In addition to that, there can be a neighborhood around an x-point given its surface, which is similar to a piece of 2D space. This neighborhood is called patch. According to this resemblance, right-left and up-down concepts around x can be well defined. More precisely, a coordinate system can be laid around x. Thus, even if the surface is not part of a plane, the points around x have coordinates as if they were in a plane. The Earth's surface is mathematically a surface. Each map drawn by the Earth describes a coordinate system in the sense above. In this way navigation in maritime becomes easier and two sailors can agree on each other by speaking in the same coordinate system.
