Bacteriology
Bacteriology is a section of microbiology that studies the structure, life and properties of bacteria. Bacteriology is often divided into a number of separate disciplines. General bacteriology studies morphology, physiology, biochemistry of bacteria, their variability and heredity, evolution, distribution in nature and other aspects. Medical and veterinary bacteriology study the biology of pathogenic bacteria, methods for their selection and determination, the phenomenon of immunity, develop specific means for the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases of humans and animals.
