Hong Kong
Hong Kong (abbreviation: HK), located in the south of the Yangtze River in China, east of the Pearl River estuary, north of Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, west of the Pearl River, the other two sides adjacent to the South China Sea. The territory of Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, the New Territories and other three regions, including Hong Kong Island is the core of the development of the territory; geographical environment by the Kowloon Peninsula and other mainland land, and 263 islands, population of about 7.23 million people. In 214 BC, Hong Kong was incorporated into the territory of the Central Plains dynasty by the Qin Dynasty. Since then, the local regime has been established for the Central Plains Empire or the imperial territory of the Vietnamese region of Guangdong. In 1842 the Qing Empire and the British Empire signed the "Treaty of Nanking", permanently ceded Hong Kong Island, then signed the "Beijing Treaty" and "Extension of Hong Kong boundary special", respectively, ceded and rented the New Territories in Kowloon. During World War II, Hong Kong was dominated by Japan for about three years and eight months.
