En física, la frecuencia angular ω es una medida escalar de la tasa de rotación. Se refiere al desplazamiento angular por unidad de tiempo oa la velocidad de cambio de la fase de una forma de onda sinusoidal, o como la tasa de cambio del argumento de la función sinusoidal. La frecuencia angular es la magnitud de la velocidad angular de la cantidad del vector. El término vector de frecuencia angular se utiliza a veces como sinónimo de la velocidad angular de la cantidad vectorial. Una revolución es igual a 2π radianes, por lo tanto: ω es la frecuencia angular o velocidad angular, T es el período, f es la frecuencia ordinaria.
