Counterpoint

En la música, el contrapunto es la relación entre voces que son interdependientes armónicamente y sin embargo son independientes en el ritmo y el contorno. Se ha identificado con mayor frecuencia en la música clásica, fuertemente desarrollada durante el Renacimiento y en gran parte del período de práctica común, especialmente en la música barroca. El término se origina del latín punctus contra punctum que significa "punto contra punto". In music, counterpoint is the relationship between voices that are interdependent harmonically and yet are independent in rhythm and contour. It has been most commonly identified in classical music, strongly developing during the Renaissance and in much of the common practice period, especially in Baroque music. The term originates from the Latin punctus contra punctum meaning "point against point".
