Disección

Dissection

La disección es el proceso de desmontar y observar algo para determinar su estructura interna y como ayuda para discernir las funciones y relaciones de sus componentes. El término se utiliza con mayor frecuencia en relación con la disección de plantas, animales o seres humanos. La disección humana se practica comúnmente en la enseñanza de la anatomía para los estudiantes de medicina, mientras que los estudiantes de biología suelen participar en disecciones de animales, pero también de plantas. La disección es una práctica médica utilizada en patología y medicina forense durante la autopsia. La vivisección está relacionada con la disección, pero se realiza en especímenes vivos. Dissection is the process of disassembling and observing something to determine its internal structure and as an aid to discerning the functions and relationships of its components. The term is most often used concerning the dissection of plants, animals or humans. Human dissection is commonly practiced in the teaching of anatomy for students of medicine, while students of biology often engage in dissections of animals, but also of plants. Dissection is a medical practice utilized in pathology and forensic medicine during autopsy. Vivisection is related to dissection, but is done on living specimens.
