Research

La investigación abarca "el trabajo creativo emprendido sobre una base sistemática con el fin de aumentar el stock de conocimiento, incluyendo el conocimiento del hombre, la cultura y la sociedad, y el uso de este stock de conocimiento para diseñar nuevas aplicaciones". Se utiliza para establecer o confirmar hechos, reafirmar los resultados de trabajos anteriores, resolver problemas nuevos o existentes, apoyar teoremas o desarrollar nuevas teorías. Un proyecto de investigación también puede ser una ampliación de los trabajos anteriores sobre el terreno. Para probar la validez de instrumentos, procedimientos o experimentos, la investigación puede replicar elementos de proyectos anteriores, o el proyecto en su conjunto. Los objetivos principales de la investigación básica son la documentación, el descubrimiento, la interpretación o la investigación y el desarrollo de métodos y sistemas para el adelanto del conocimiento humano. Los enfoques de la investigación dependen de epistemologías, que varían considerablemente dentro y entre las humanidades y las ciencias. Existen varias formas de investigación: científicas, humanísticas, artísticas, económicas, sociales, comerciales, de marketing, de investigación de profesionales, etc. Research comprises "creative work undertaken on a systematic basis in order to increase the stock of knowledge, including knowledge of man, culture and society, and the use of this stock of knowledge to devise new applications." It is used to establish or confirm facts, reaffirm the results of previous work, solve new or existing problems, support theorems, or develop new theories. A research project may also be an expansion on past work in the field. To test the validity of instruments, procedures, or experiments, research may replicate elements of prior projects, or the project as a whole. The primary purposes of basic research are documentation, discovery, interpretation, or the research and development of methods and systems for the advancement of human knowledge. Approaches to research depend on epistemologies, which vary considerably both within and between humanities and sciences. There are several forms of research: scientific, humanities, artistic, economic, social, business, marketing, practitioner research, etc.
